Eastern Medicine

About Eastern Medicine

Eastern Medicine is the oldest form of recorded medicine in human history. While there are many variations and applications overall it is based on meridians or currents of energy that run in the body. Today we have imaging to prove the efficacy of these meridians via acu-pressure points and how they stimulate the brain. Just ask Aubrey for studies.

Constitutional vs. Orthopedic

While there are as many variations of acu-pressure therapy as people, it is our philosophy that even treating a location of physical trauma or chronic pain, that entire person be harmonized to support the progression of healing. During intake a patient’s overall constitution will be assessed in order to better treat each individual specifically to their needs. If orthopedic treatments are needed such as injury or pain issues, then we will weave those into the treatment as well. It is an option to have a strictly orthopedic style session that will only focus on the location of the issue. These treatments are somewhat shorter in length and can still have herbal medicine incorporated into them.

Other modalities such as Chiropractic care or functional strength training may be recommended and strongly suggested. As with anything there is a scope to this practice and while we can help the spine to re-align and maintain alignment sometimes more structural integrity is needed for optimum long-term results. We are also huge proponents of infrared cold laser, hot/cold therapies such as cold plunges and sauna, breathing exercises and therapeutic yoga. Given our location we can easily integrate Naturopathic Medicine as well Active Release Technique (ART), and massage therapy can be explored in house.
